3-D cone beam CT digital imaging technology is one of the latest improvements in dentistry. We are pleased to be one of the first practices in our area to provide this amazing service. Think of it as a three-dimensional X-ray that is more precise than conventional equipment, requires less processing time, and does it with far less radiation exposure. Ultra cone beam images present an outstanding advantage when diagnosing patients and evaluating treatment options compared to flat, two-dimensional images. This leads to much greater accuracy for all dental treatment but especially implant placement and oral surgeries.

There are some treatments that can only be completed in stages. In the past, that was true with placing a crown. Your dentist would prepare the tooth, take an impression and give you a temporary crown. The impression would be sent to a lab and you would wait for two weeks to return to the dentist, where he would then secure the permanent crown. Sometimes the fit wouldn't be perfect. A new impression would then go back to the lab, and you would begin the process of waiting again.
