Brushing Your Kid's Teeth

It’s never too early to get children in the habit of good oral care. Of course, it’s up to parents to take the “first steps.” Finding new ways to model good dental habits and practice them with your kids is key. The sooner kids begin to take charge of their own teeth, the happier and healthier they (and you) will be. And the payoffs over a lifetime are immeasurable.

Don’t Worry-You’re Not Alone
If you think it’s a challenge to teach your kids good oral care, you’re in good company. Tooth decay is one of the most common childhood diseases. And studies show that almost 50% of kids between six and eight have had at least one cavity.1 These are just a couple of reasons why it’s so important to help kids understand right from the start that proper dental habits are a smart idea.

Implant Dentistry

Missing Teeth? Why Not 'Grow' New Ones?

Is it possible to replace lost teeth in such a way that only your dentist can tell the difference between the replacements and the originals? Yes! With dental implants. Unlike bridges or removable dentures, which sit on top of your gums, dental implants are placed under your gums. The "tooth" placed on an implant appears life-like, because it sits below the gum line just like the original did – it's like growing a new tooth! Whether they're visible in the front of your mouth, or placed in the back where they provide stability to chew a full variety of foods, implants can help you recapture an amazing and healthy smile. We utilize only the best, most well-known and well-researched implants and parts, so you can be assured of top-notch results.

The Importance of Hygiene Visits

One of the more vital reasons to make a dental appointment is to have your teeth cleaned by a professional hygienist. Plaque and tartar develop on teeth over time. Plaque is gooey, but regular brushing typically removes most of it. But unremoved plaque hardens into tartar, which is beyond the reach of your average toothbrush and floss. Tartar deposits grow below the gumline as well as on the surface of your teeth. If you don't get rid of the plaque, you risk more worrisome issues with your teeth and gums later on. Recent research shows a definite link between untreated gum disease and other life-altering conditions like heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. Having your teeth cleaned routinely is one of the easiest things you can do to stay healthy!
